David A. Prentice, PhD

Dr. Prentice is a senior fellow for Life Sciences at Family Research Council and adjunct professor of Molecular Genetics, John Paul II Institute, Catholic University of America. Previously, he spent almost 20 years as professor of Life Sciences, Indiana State University and adjunct professor of Medical and Molecular Genetics, Indiana University School of Medicine. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Kansas and was at Los Alamos National Laboratory and University of Texas Medical School-Houston before joining Indiana State University, where he taught, conducted research, and served as an academic administrator. He is a founding member of Do No Harm: The Coalition of Americans for Research Ethics and an editorial board member for the Journal of Tissue Science & Engineering. His research interests encompass various aspects of cell growth control. He is internationally recognized regarding adult stem cells and has written and lectured widely on stem cells and bioethics.
